The Edward Goldberg Memorial Scholarship funds three different initiatives: 

1.  Spec Writing Contest

2.  Free Student Membership Program

3.  Certificate Reimbursement Program

Spec Writing Competition

Local college students (residing or attending school in Central New York) who are enrolled in a construction related curriculum shall be eligible to enter the Chapter’s spec writing competition.  Winners of this competition shall earn the Edward Goldberg Memorial Scholarship.  

Free Student Membership Program

A college student enrolled in a construction related curriculum may earn a free student membership for one year:

1)      After attending two Syracuse Chapter programs within one fiscal year, and

2)      Filling out the CSI membership form and presenting it to the Chapter Board.

The Chapter treasurer shall forward the membership form to the Institute.  The Chapter shall pay the student’s Institute membership fee for one year.  Chapter student membership shall be $0. 

Certification Reimbursement Program

Chapter members shall receive full reimbursement (early bird exam costs only) for taking CSI certification examinations:

1)      Shall be a Chapter member for a minimum of four years, and

2)      Must pass the exam, and

3)      Present the Chapter Board with proof of passing the exam

4)      Upon authorization of the Board the Chapter Treasurer shall send reimbursement.
